Tabernacle Camp 10th - 11th June

The Tabernacle Camp is finally over! Time flies... The past few weeks, I'd been busy with the signups for the camp, signups for the different sub-activities that would gone on during the Camp, the payments, the sourcing for tents etc.

Camp Amigo started on 9th June. It began with Kayaking at Changi Seasports Center. Meifang and the girls, (Angeline, Michelle, Charmaine, Joanne and Samantha) were fantastic! Here are some pictures taken:

GB camp (Henderson GB and Jurongville GB combined) commenced on 9th June too.

Saturday morning was the official opening of the Tabernacla Camp. Ps HG shared how this camp is in line with YouthNet Vision 2006: The Gathering, The Training & The Sending. The tabernacle is a dwelling place of GOD among the gathered people. The gathered people enter the tabernacle through JESUS, who is revealed through the Tabernacle. (1) The arrangement of the tribes around the Tabernacle [Numbers 2] which made up a CROSS on an aerial view, (2) the arrangement of the articles in the Tabernacle which made up a CROSS on an aerial view and (3) through the 4 standards, colours used, bronze altar, bronze basin, Table of shewbread, lampstand, altar of incense, the veil, mercy seat, items in the Ark of Covenant, Pillar of fire and pillar of cloud and worship.
Definition of The Feast of the Tabernacle: It is the tutoring of our spirits to celebrate the goodness of GOD collectively in a humble living condition. Reference Verse: Leviticus 23:33-43

We are reminded to thank GOD and not to take our blessings for granted. Kuwait was prosperous for the past decade and was wiped out in one day. What if it happens to Singapore one fine day? Don’t be complacent.

Aim of the Tabernacle Camp: To send excited, grateful, contented, united and humble generation to share the blessings of GOD to others, especially those who live in ‘pre-promised land’ lifestyle (i.e. The Israelites complained complained and complained. A grumbling and ungrateful attitude.)

5 groups of people we shall aim to bless:
Poor
Needy
Orphan
Widow
Aliens (i.e. foreigners)

After Pastor HG’s sharing, HGSFSAHJ tribes marched to the Tabernacle Camp from TC. HGSFSA12 will take turns to carry the Ark of the Covenant, leading the entire mass of followers to the Tabernacle Camp.

(pictures coming up...)

On Saturday, there were Beach Activity and Night Cycling. I went for the Night Cycling with Lin Nan, Peiling, Pey Rou, Vida, Yanshi, Chin Fen, Yuanjia and Chin Fen’s friend. It was such a good experience. My first night cycling.

Throughout this camp, GOD reminded me of many things:

Servant Leadership
I was asked to take care of the bags while everyone was away for Kayaking since I wasn’t kayaking. My first thought was, why me? I wanted to stay at the beach to watch the others played. Nevertheless, I went away to look after the bags. When I was there alone, I told GOD to come and encounter me. GOD impressed upon my heart the words ‘Servant Leadership’. To lead is to serve. I’m reminded not to lourde over my people, but to be a servant for them. It was a privilege to look after the bags because I can be trusted. That’s why I was asked to look after the bags.

Humility and brokenness
Sleeping in tents is a far cry from the luxurious bed we have at home. With the continuous rain over the weekend seemed to make it worse. The only time when the sun was shining brightly was during the march to the Tabernacle. It was divine. Praise the LORD for those who stayed in the Camp, especially the youths! It was indeed a humbling experience for many of us. I believe the GOD is bringing some of us to a state of brokenness where we identify that we truly need GOD in our lives. Without GOD, we are nothing.

Perseverance
Even as a dancer who exercises regularly, I am having aches in my top thighs and upper back after cycling for 6 hours overnight. I take my hat off to those who may not be as ‘fit’ as me. I’m sure GOD’s strength was upon many of us to last the race. I’m reminded of my journey with GOD. I want to last the race. I want to run in perseverance. Would you run the same way too? Lin Nan, I affirm you that you have persevered and you are a conqueror! You have stretched yourself beyond the extent you could handle. Praise you in the name of JESUS.

Unity in the Body of Christ
A conflict arose among the youths with a youth from Ps Debra’s side. I learnt about managing conflict. More important, GOD reminds us that we are one body, irregardless which tribe you belong to. Let us remember that we are responsible for what we say and do. Be a good ambassador of Christ and let’s learn to accommodate the differences among ourselves and learn to love one another – the one commandment God has given.

This camp in itself is a CONQUEST – to conquer ourselves so that GOD can use us when we are broken.
